Flexilab
Flexilab is a windows based platform for running experiments in a child psychology research lab (although it could be used in a wide variety of research situations when it's done). This is a very interesting and challenging project, as it represents a departure from the normal old web-based application development.
While I have handled large windows based application development before, this projects extends my experience even further.
In a nutshell, Flexilab plays stimuli on 1 to 4 monitors to a subject, while it collects, aggregates, and reacts to data input from one or two observers (via a joystick or gamepad). Sounds deceptively simple when I say it in one sentence like that! In fact the application itself should be pretty complicated, especially the facility to "script" experiments. This allows the person running the experiment to have very fine grained control over every aspect of how the stimuli are presented to the subject.
More details to follow as this project unfolds!
