Email Sending Policies: What attachments are being blocked?

If you're getting an error message that looks like this when sending:

[email addres]
This message has been rejected because it has
a potentially executable attachment
[attached filename]
This form of attachment has been used by
recent viruses or other malware.
If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.

This means that the message you sent has an attachment that is being blocked by the mail servers. We do this to help reduce the spread of viruses, but unfortunatly it can be inconvenient. We try very hard to strike a balance between safety and ease-of-use.
